The right to shuffle the pack of Wolves
I am dismayed by the FA’s decision to ask Mick McCarthy for an explanation of his Wolves side who boasted 10 changes for the game at Old Trafford.
The 10 players are no different that the ones they had replaced in view of the next game against Burnley: they are in the Wolverhampton squad, fully-paid by the club. As professional footballers, they get paid to play football. A manager has the right to pick any player he wants to play. So what is all the fuss about?
Might as well ask Rafa why he’s always resting his big-time players over the years? Ask Arsene why he only plays youth teams for the Carling Cup?
I’ve heard of the injustice the FA sometimes haul on not only lesser teams in the lower leagues but also the ones not in the Big Four. This is no different. Mick McCarthy didn’t break any rules. If he gets fined for this then I’d be dejected as hell.
